Primary School Curriculum

Rockboro provides a wider curriculum than that found in most primary schools; it comprises-

Irish: pupils exempt from studying Irish can opt for Spanish

Optional extra subjects available are- Sports (Soccer, Hockey, Table Tennis and Basketball), Music (piano, clarinet, singing/choir, tin whistle & recorder), Ballet/Dance and Mandarin Chinese. A further option, particularly attractive to time-constrained parents, is our Homework Club, which allows you to collect children after the scheduled class finishing time.

Learning Support Our qualified Learning support/remedial teacher works closely with those class teachers responsible for Senior Infants up to J6. Children are assisted individually or in small groups, with the aim of assisting them to keep up with class standards.

Swimming receives special emphasis with lessons being conducted once weekly for all classes. Pupils participate in Interschool Galas.

Sport Each class has Physical Education twice weekly, taken by our qualified PE teacher. Soccer & Hockey are after-school activities, with pupils participating in junior leagues.
